Romaine Fielding

Born 22 May 1867 or 1868 in Riceville, Iowa, USA, as William Grant Blandin.
Died 16 December 1927 in Hollywood, California, USA, of a blood clot from an infected tooth.
Married Icylene L. Richards, in the 1890s.
Married Mabel van Valkenburg, 1907; divorced, 1917.
Married actress Joan Arliss (Naomi Sachs), 2 December 1918; until Romaine’s death, 16 December 1927;
three children.
Romaine Fielding began motion picture work for Solax Company in 1911 and soon joined Lubin Manufacturing Company in Philadelphia in November 1911. Owner Siegmund Lubin assigned the directorial duties of Lubin’s southwest unit located in Arizona to Fielding in June 1912. As the creative leader of the unit, Fielding wrote, directed and was a featured actor in the western films they produced in Arizona, New Mexico and Mexico. Fielding continued with Lubin until the company discontinued business in 1917, he then began directing for World Film Corporation.
