This DVD edition has been mastered from a standard-definition video transfer that is not always upscable on HD systems to remove evidence of its interlaced video formatting. The interlacing is often most-evident, and looks worse, in the typeface of identifying titles (the names of interviewees).

Supplemental material includes original theatrical trailers for the Wellman films Nothing Sacred (1937) (2 minutes) and A Star is Born (1937) (3 minutes).

While the it could well benefit from a new high-definition scan, for now, this is our recommended home video edition of the documentary. Perhaps the documentary will end up as an extra feature on a Blu-ray Disc edition of a Wellman film.
