From the novel Mat (Mother) by Maxim Gorki. Cinematography by Aleksandr Levitsky and Nikolas Roudakoff. / Standard 35mm spherical 1.33:1 format. / The production was shot in 1919. Due to shortages of positive filmstock the film was unable to be printed until 1922, by which time some of the footage was lost and the film was never shown in complete form. The novel was subsequently filmed as Mat (1926).
